I recently purchased a home in Fitler Square that was in need of many upgrades, one of which was to repair and re-finish the hardwood floors. I contacted Joe Hudson through email after seeing good reviews and he promptly called me. I described the house and said that he would be happy to stop by and talk through everything. This house has oak flooring on the first level and had carpet on the 2nd level. He peeled up the carpet on the second level and told me that the original pine floors were intact and with some hard work they could be brought back to their original glory. Throughout the process, Joe informed me of things that would help lower the cost of the project, including removing the carpet on my own and offered different finish options, that would also make the floors look great but had lower costs. The oak floors on the 1st level were in great condition so he recommended a buff and coat, which would polish but did not require a deep sand. Since there were many defects in the wood that were deeper than a sanding would remove, it made sense and the results spoke for themselves. The floors looked great and clean, while keeping the charm and character of 70 plus year old floors. On the pine floors on the 2nd level, he recommended that we use Woca oil that was a natural oil finish that would make the floors really stand out and look like the original floors. We were so happy with Joe and his transparency throughout the whole process with the cost and how he worked to make this very easy. I already have contacted him about another project that can use his expertise and look forward to working with him again. I highly recommend him and his company.
