Hardwood Flooring Services in Doylestown, PA
Doylestown, PA, is a town located in Bucks County and is known as the county seat. Doylestown is conveniently located to many other major towns in the area, including Trenton, New Jersey, Easton, PA, and Center City Philadelphia.
Europeans arrived in Doylestown in 1745 with the building of a tavern known as William Doyle’s Tavern. The town grew around the centrally located tavern, which linked Norristown, New Hope, Philadelphia, and Easton. The town thrived and eventually added a firehouse, utility services, churches, housing developments, and more.
In the 1900s, Doylestown boasted a thriving main street with a popular retail area. In the 1960s, as large shopping malls began to grow in popularity, the main street fell into disrepair, and the town had to re-invent itself. It did this by appealing to aristocrats from the surrounding cities who had country homes in the area. Doylestown turned its attention to museums and cultural destinations that would appeal to this audience.
A few of the destinations born of this time include The Mercer Museum, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, and the Moravian Pottery and Tile Words. The County Theater was also rebuilt and restored, and Doylestown’s empty spaces became home to restaurants and nightlife.

Doylestown is also home to Font Hill Castle, a 44-room castle and former home to Henry Mercer. Kid’s Castle is a park and recreation area built in the style of a castle. Michener Art Museum is located in what used to be a prison.
